“to truly create something individual the designer has to give something personal from his or her own life experiences”, here is Simon’s story.

1993: Graduation

Simon Horsley graduates with a degree in fashion design from Chesterfield College of Technology and Art and Derby College, where he was the first person to receive a merit of distinction for his final collection.

1995: The Derby Shirt Company

Simon began designing and making shirts for the Derby Shirt Company, who manufactured shirts for the emergency services and armed forces.

1996: Paul Smith

The Derby Shirt Company was acquired by Sir Paul Smith. Simon was in charge of shirt production for Ozwald Boateng, Nigel Cabourn, Red or Dead, Comme des Garcon and, of course, Sir Paul Smith, all whilst designing his own bespoke collections.

1997: The Begining

Simon founded Crow & Jester, supported by Prince’s Youth Business Trust.

2000: First Store

Crow & Jester opens its first store in Nottingham.

2005: Crow & Jester Stocked in Harrods

Crow & Jester garments are stocked in luxury retailers throughout the UK, including Harrods.

2006: Commonwealth Games

Crow & Jester designed, measured and made over 250 outfits for the Team Wales athletes and staff for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. They were voted the Best Dressed Team attending.

2016: Bespoke Tailoring

Crow & Jester enter the world of bespoke tailoring, offering individual tailoring appointments and one-of-a-kind garments inspired by the Crow & Jester ethos.

2019: EJ Churchill

Crow & Jester designs a collection of shooting attire in collaboration with EJ Churchill.

2021: Ladies First

Crow and Jester launches its first range of women’s shooting attire, informed by the Crow & Jester personality and design principles.
